<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimnLfaVWK624FeIvitfQ_8OYkfN4yPeF7sHJavjxfqdfVAj-n1T5pVzqg3GtMvRTII2G7ynrJ3X7oKIntADyinYhg3sUfgpO1TxHCNYqr7M2vY0DUk-OUbbsiuIARxURAsCquhYt36DYdt/s1600/165.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimnLfaVWK624FeIvitfQ_8OYkfN4yPeF7sHJavjxfqdfVAj-n1T5pVzqg3GtMvRTII2G7ynrJ3X7oKIntADyinYhg3sUfgpO1TxHCNYqr7M2vY0DUk-OUbbsiuIARxURAsCquhYt36DYdt/s320/165.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
Come on in and look around! My desks are set up so I can pull a chair up to any group and conference with writing. I also have a meeting table set up in the front of the class. When the kids need to work as a group, they simply turn the desks around.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTLJKSnT8Aqxs0F6CPNFGWagiVDhyphenhyphengoetA56NSfapoG3jGYrzdP_P6YgZf-9OcIFFxlGc6Nw5_-vsLQ8y6NvG9vDywa3SJShXPA2atB26swZHHJvH9mAIlQ89S1TEm2_ZfSYWPsVD1a_-l/s1600/166.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTLJKSnT8Aqxs0F6CPNFGWagiVDhyphenhyphengoetA56NSfapoG3jGYrzdP_P6YgZf-9OcIFFxlGc6Nw5_-vsLQ8y6NvG9vDywa3SJShXPA2atB26swZHHJvH9mAIlQ89S1TEm2_ZfSYWPsVD1a_-l/s320/166.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
On the front of my lockers are slash pockets. The marker on the front of the pocket goes in our daily graph. It is easy for me to take attendance then. I place all papers in the pockets. My fourth graders take the papers out at the end of the day and put them in their take home folders. I can quickly check to see who has not followed directions.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp9l3-IaGTPwUzBzbhTqgA1Y4bXu0IuBwM3E062vd0wzrIJn2yfQn89Vt2pXhsXSaJCkOw029P9_CG_z65xHeIcX1LwZLfq2o79xIof4NMXmDZA17kqZuAyJKJdZPWCcKxvI_usyvHxWbt/s1600/167.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp9l3-IaGTPwUzBzbhTqgA1Y4bXu0IuBwM3E062vd0wzrIJn2yfQn89Vt2pXhsXSaJCkOw029P9_CG_z65xHeIcX1LwZLfq2o79xIof4NMXmDZA17kqZuAyJKJdZPWCcKxvI_usyvHxWbt/s320/167.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
My writers are all about adding bling to their compositions. The little mirrored pieces are metal disks that roofers nail into. I don't know what they are called, but when you buy a box it lasts for years! I have used this box for ten years. I use it on the back of everything I want to stick to my magnets.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlpvPPjimMRvbKfYWTPVsxjSRvNylJ2w8iA8stUyFTT5ngxJ5NEyzJRELOCtQtm7RQuI21hBKwcrfAIXFpHKvgPcw8IjU6W3rOMMP9nrA5PFfovnzItX5ZsUH227ljqpGdoZr41PN7eRni/s1600/171.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlpvPPjimMRvbKfYWTPVsxjSRvNylJ2w8iA8stUyFTT5ngxJ5NEyzJRELOCtQtm7RQuI21hBKwcrfAIXFpHKvgPcw8IjU6W3rOMMP9nrA5PFfovnzItX5ZsUH227ljqpGdoZr41PN7eRni/s320/171.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
You can see my window seat. My pillows aren't ready yet. The wall was inspired from pintrest, but I couldn't paint my back wall so I used felt and connected the wall with command product velcro strips. It has been hanging well. The stars are just sticking to the other felt. I am going to post my anchor charts on the red stripes.<br />
<br />
The front of my cubbies were two posts ago. <br />
<br />
I don't use my file cabinet, so it is turned to make a huge Boggle board.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAL0r3v4nE_mwJtfBnIL0hwLmMGuBBDSWaqII48XNeErOWzAJ3DW33gW5bJ3pwD0Q7xZUA_hQjTUetq0No1CsFFB1v1naiqaK_vU8qYdQfS4EwiA1GeBfymkhpcdCixdiTburlYQm4H5Q9/s1600/172.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAL0r3v4nE_mwJtfBnIL0hwLmMGuBBDSWaqII48XNeErOWzAJ3DW33gW5bJ3pwD0Q7xZUA_hQjTUetq0No1CsFFB1v1naiqaK_vU8qYdQfS4EwiA1GeBfymkhpcdCixdiTburlYQm4H5Q9/s320/172.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here is a slightly blurry picture of my desk area. You can see my red desk. It is really fancy on top. I have my pintrest file folder.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

If you know me, you know I love books. I use them all at some point of the year!<br />

I hae really been working on revamping my room. I blame it all on Pintrest. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cookie sheet and glass blobs are from Dollar tree. The Maya Road goodness and the other elements I already had.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My class is all over the school so I made a little where is Mrs. Campbell. Pizza sheet from Dollar Tree. I used some Maya Road goodness and an old Paper Bliss pencil I found and added a magnet to as a pointer. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A trick. If you didn't know it, Maya Road has computer templates for all of their chip board. I open them and resize them in Photo Shop Elements and add writing. </div>

I did some more work in my classroom today. I just have a little hodge podge to share. Since my fourth grade class is departmentalized, my time with the students is short. It is a whirl wind of activity! I don't want the students to waste time looking for supplies. So I keep each group well stocked. This year I am using these baskets. I got them 3 for a dollar at Town Talk in Fort Worth. The green ring around the bottom didn't fit with my Americana theme, so I covered it with a great bow made from left over ribbon and added a covered Maya Road star and number for each group.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjpmq3GUmVsnY3hKUYFG5Pdt2fTN4sex4qylaF4fXXoZgVVyJun9EtH25vvi6TdEKRJWLivQz6qmIvrGKcQJE4SPMCmqZmgEjBb4nVqg7_aSi9huU2_CiqEv32ctRXWYmdJZvGpN2Hl-nj/s1600/baskets.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjpmq3GUmVsnY3hKUYFG5Pdt2fTN4sex4qylaF4fXXoZgVVyJun9EtH25vvi6TdEKRJWLivQz6qmIvrGKcQJE4SPMCmqZmgEjBb4nVqg7_aSi9huU2_CiqEv32ctRXWYmdJZvGpN2Hl-nj/s320/baskets.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
During the day, my classroom is my happy spot. This is part of my computer desk. This has my personal supply cubby that I covered with Vintage Americana paper from Hobby Lobby.<br />
<br />
My Scentcy candle. I got it last year on clearance after the Fourth of July.<br />
<br />
I have a chipboard addiction so you can see my name hanging on the cabinet.<br />
<br />
Clipboard- It is a plexiglass clipboard. I glued everything underneath it so I can still write on a flat surface. I don't like writing on mod podged paper.<br />
<br />
I also have a Maya Road addiction. You can see the huge bottle cap with a flower and a bingo number for a center.<br />
<br />
The clock is a cheapy from Walmart, but I covered it with some great sparkly stickers!<br />
<br />
My bouquet was made a couple of years ago. I want to say it was an all white set from Bo Bunny, but of course I couldn't leave it white!;)<br />
<br />
You will notice I have a lot of Hello Kitties around my room. The kids like giving them to me. I love them too, but I only like the red bow kitties otherwise she will clash with my class.<br />
<br />

<br />
I have had these Iris storage drawers/ tubs in my classroom for 15 years. They were looking a bit shabby. As a Pintrest addicts, I have seen some overhauls performed on the Sterilite tubs. Many people Mod Podge the insides, or covered the inside of all of the drawer. I felt like there needed to be an option that would allow me to change the theme if I needed to do so. <br />
<br />
So, I decided to cut 2.5 X 12" strips of scrapbook paper. I made a lable with photoshop elements, matted it and then glued it to the strip. (I did ink each individual piece with Vintage Photo, because I am an inking junkie and love it when my fingers get all inky!) Afterwards, I laminated them. Then I used doublesided tape on the ends and adhered it to the drawers. Now if I want to change my them next year, I can just peel and go. <br />
<br />
It's very sturdy. The broken drawers are hidden. It gives the classroom a more unified feel. These tubs hold extra crayons, markers, and map colors. I really hate it when kids stand at the color bucket sifting through them for what seems like hours searching for the right color. Now when a student needs a red crayon, he or she opens the red drawer and the red crayon is staring at them. They can grab and go!<br />

This is my favorite little nook in my room so far. My friend Laura gave me this little statue of L.B.J., my favorite president, He is located in front of my Texas road maps and wildflower charts. I bought these little bins from a store after the fourth of July for hardly anything.<br />
<br />
Today my plan is to finish all six or seven of my storage tubs! Decorating the classroom is like making a very big scrapbook page!Brookhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09296545140159346270noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1451843616076357855.post-73203231084091115402012-07-04T17:53:00.004-06:002012-07-04T17:53:56.980-06:00New Book Bag<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Happy Fourth of July! Even though school is a month and a half away, I am getting ready. This is my new school bag. <br />
<br />
Last month, my mom and I were looking for a craft to make for our family reunion. We were in JoAnn's where I saw these cute wicker bags. They reminded me so much of the loop tug canvas that I told my mom I thought that it would really be cute with strips of fabric to make a flag on the side.<br />
<br />
My mother made a precious bag. I really wanted it, but alas. one of my of my cousins outbid me during the family reunion's silent auction. I was very upset.<br />
<br />
Imagine my suprise when I walked into my momma's house and saw this sweet bag! I think it is even more precious than the last one she made!<br />
<br />
The project is pretty easy. Cut your inch and a half wide strips. Fold the material over and push the fold through the openings. Then, pull the free ends through the loop. Finally knot. Place two or three knots in open section. My mother used some off white, red and light denim material. She then added cute wooden stars. <br />
<br />
I can't wait to carry my school books in my new bag!<br />Brookhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09296545140159346270noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1451843616076357855.post-37898602651281693802010-07-19T07:00:00.000-06:002010-07-19T07:00:11.838-06:00Alice SwapMy friend Dee Dee and I are participating in and Alice Swap. We have been wanting to do one for a while. When we hear that the Graphic 45 Alice paper was at The Crafty Scrapper, we ran over before our retreat and then got busy.<br />Dee Dee had a fabulous idea to share swap some tags. These are the big boy tags that have some serious room for embellishing.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT2offYPQTtzd-hyQTzeAWrQ5JGIwy3I8CCsJTaW5d5z-DJT7SThgajDuoZt9gkBB7_RR7paPWXL3swhfy7CyGuRbcpM6kuzChNxZYP_-X4AgaG4UmdJCzkiqKRIJeJPJAWa1q-X-pvpvh/s1600/DSC06364.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 181px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494243475019534178" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT2offYPQTtzd-hyQTzeAWrQ5JGIwy3I8CCsJTaW5d5z-DJT7SThgajDuoZt9gkBB7_RR7paPWXL3swhfy7CyGuRbcpM6kuzChNxZYP_-X4AgaG4UmdJCzkiqKRIJeJPJAWa1q-X-pvpvh/s320/DSC06364.JPG" /></a> I don't know which tag is my favorite....but I am always partial to the Mad Hatter. Probably because my Little Luke was the most precious Mad Hatter and then Sam had a wonderful time with his hand me down costume.<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh46ALpPpTS6xQESGKDlonEXcpd_PpAAFbqZIAMufaoHC3A6O65_ieaZwj3rH_ti2-5sBYDa5wj0nPr930sjPLtxKbl6_i3Tx9faOBOjk1cSe8St-9kwUrftMhlCvOq0gu1CLjQb9zR6vUC/s1600/DSC06365.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 181px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494243042686489266" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh46ALpPpTS6xQESGKDlonEXcpd_PpAAFbqZIAMufaoHC3A6O65_ieaZwj3rH_ti2-5sBYDa5wj0nPr930sjPLtxKbl6_i3Tx9faOBOjk1cSe8St-9kwUrftMhlCvOq0gu1CLjQb9zR6vUC/s320/DSC06365.JPG" /></a>I inked these tags repeatedly and stamped them. Then I had fun tearing up paper and inking it. When I made the Queen tag, I can't help but picturing a little Rachel Rike yelling out, "All Ways are My Ways!" or "Get to the Part Where I Loose My Temper!"<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWuavxRT4VW2McuGlk5z4osdDCnBjNi4X9PPXGJoPgBcT7lhiEMTpiSt_QiflGPa1kBT-huTezffcnCZsPsVO4x7R6l8Qtw_hEfrtYNuYdEDtZusRhNm_p17dU5svB5ruEnZ9kVvYpcJgK/s1600/DSC06366.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 181px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494242637289938562" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWuavxRT4VW2McuGlk5z4osdDCnBjNi4X9PPXGJoPgBcT7lhiEMTpiSt_QiflGPa1kBT-huTezffcnCZsPsVO4x7R6l8Qtw_hEfrtYNuYdEDtZusRhNm_p17dU5svB5ruEnZ9kVvYpcJgK/s320/DSC06366.JPG" /></a> This paper is mega cute with the Halloween additions. The Hatter is holding candy corn. The Queen has horns and a tail. It is filled with as many pictures as I could put in of her son and her during the different events last year. It is just wating on the school song. I couldn't remember all the words. I wanted it to be edgy but pretty. I wanted it to be just like my cat. I asked Cat what color she wanted and she said, "Purple." There was no hesitation. Purple with a little red and black I figured would make a really cool gothy look. So I was searching around The Crafty Scrapper and found this album from Fancy Pants. The album has felt, acrylic, cardboard, cloth and mirrored pages. Just the unique mixture of textures I wanted. Then I saw the great paper that had been put over with some Twighlight themed supplies. I grabbed the Maya Mist and my Maya Road goodies and I was ready to go.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX1m3lbR9Om82mK-U3EQHVRhdQnoBkzC0BtzlFkiKHopxHzNzoHhdLKw4QS-kJYrGpRWjxj-LTpov9qPYxkgR4IxlONdVB4TRK8imH4qSZRY_hZ5M1KCYE5wNbalfun_Vb551cd_teIKfX/s1600/DSC06350.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 181px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494213223330525666" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX1m3lbR9Om82mK-U3EQHVRhdQnoBkzC0BtzlFkiKHopxHzNzoHhdLKw4QS-kJYrGpRWjxj-LTpov9qPYxkgR4IxlONdVB4TRK8imH4qSZRY_hZ5M1KCYE5wNbalfun_Vb551cd_teIKfX/s320/DSC06350.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzv0e1n7XBI3TlnAZo7B-Q7Aj7To0fwDriNukVkOkf-gsLc4efSMXmjxzgLCc67e8qteOTG50_Pc4P8wnqYf03kGx5Si5eGzOzDnrVUha_TaThEYacCQqFNHs8rS1he_oCOAQDZ27Bhygo/s1600/DSC06351.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 181px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494212891879792322" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzv0e1n7XBI3TlnAZo7B-Q7Aj7To0fwDriNukVkOkf-gsLc4efSMXmjxzgLCc67e8qteOTG50_Pc4P8wnqYf03kGx5Si5eGzOzDnrVUha_TaThEYacCQqFNHs8rS1he_oCOAQDZ27Bhygo/s320/DSC06351.JPG" /></a> Since my friend Dee Dee got me started on these glittered flowers, I can't stop making them. <br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgofCsaVmfuImeEK9w9MQXTomTdKs0tYdmtmtD_96_1cd3o74CHlk_su-d35hUWWezecbN7oR3h5G8KOSI6E7KuAGBKzzIBN-KtFGrrMOODCfYZSvlPHLOuc2joJONMbXmGr3nJFj48ikAt/s1600/DSC06352.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 181px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494212583549428258" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgofCsaVmfuImeEK9w9MQXTomTdKs0tYdmtmtD_96_1cd3o74CHlk_su-d35hUWWezecbN7oR3h5G8KOSI6E7KuAGBKzzIBN-KtFGrrMOODCfYZSvlPHLOuc2joJONMbXmGr3nJFj48ikAt/s320/DSC06352.JPG" /></a> I told Cat to put the pictures she wanted in a shutterfly accoung. It felt so good last week to be able to scrap away with my gals! When I go to a big crop like last week, I usually take a big project so I don't have to think about bringing a lot. When I was at <a href="http://www.thecraftyscrapper.com/">The Crafty Scrapper</a>, I saw these "<a href="http://www.sevengypsies.com/images/products/12575.jpg">Receipt Holders</a>" from Seven Gypsies. It was different....so of course I wanted it, and I wanted to alter it.<br /><br /><p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485300052152636402" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqKOPwLuzkAkrbiggCNk_tlf-ejpOF38z1sgiIc52d0vCrzhSpj751wd1efvqAC50gx2n_N_SnmJuHkVm98aZIpohBFhMXHDbSEwz9T132OJMS9nbYBYrwWQNP6zWAKa2l0ZAYFfT226oY/s320/sevengypsyboard.jpg" />I stared at it for about two hours. I thought, I'll get the needle nose pliars out and take them apart so I could cover them totally. Well....that was a no go....there had to be a better way. So, I cut the piece that went down the middle 2 1/4 " wide and slid it under the springs. Then I cut the boarder pieces 3/4" and punched them. I made a few notches so it would fit securely around the springs. I think it will look great in my classroom. I put several items from my retreat so when I look at it, it will make me happy all school year long.</p><p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485301679163933314" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinFqz8ccvOASz6zr3J9eHaPo2YX7t1aUnCE7PYXNOJ7bKYQZUNakqXWqqRXpRi6lKa7jRdSuHb9d7WA8Lych31mHLf_1UOFgvJDX2LggCyqwvx9uDuKmnYyIPMBwKZLs0QCxozb4rvpY-D/s320/flashcard.jpg" /></p>Last year my good friend <a href="http://tiedupinribbons.blogspot.com/">Sherri</a> gave me this flash card that she found with my name on it. I have been waiting to find something special to do with it. I couldn't decide if I wanted it in my classroom or my scraproom. Since I had some extra supplies from my above project, I decided to make it for my classroom. Lots of <a href="http://graphic45.ning.com/">Graphic 45</a> and <a href="http://www.mayaroad.com/">Maya Road</a> goodness.<br /><br />I had such a good time making the receipt board that I made one for The Crafty Scrapper too! It is filled with a lot more Maya Road products.<br /><br />Thanks for looking. I'm so glad it is summer so I can craft, craft, craft!<br /><br /><p></p><br /><br /><p><br /></p>Brookhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09296545140159346270noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1451843616076357855.post-22227976717843197372010-03-21T21:37:00.002-06:002010-03-21T21:41:10.827-06:00Playing with Dominoes<em><strong>This is a copy of the challenge I am hosting on the </strong></em><a href="http://k2kreativekrew.blogspot.com/2010/03/lets-play-dominoes.html"><em><strong>K2K Kreative Krew Blog </strong></em></a><em><strong>this week.</strong></em><br /><br />I'm Brook and I am your host for Challenge Number Four.<br /><div></div><div>I know you have seen those cute domino pendants at the craft show and on <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">ebay</span> or <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">etsy</span>. They are so easy for the digital scrapper to make. I want to challenge you this week to try making your own.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>There are several ways to do this. I'm going to share with you the easiest way possible.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>You need: A domino, a bead, maybe adhesive, <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">mod-podge</span> or spray sealer, and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">jewelry</span> or plastic glue.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>1. Dominoes are 1 x 2". So make a mini layout that is .75 x 1.75". I just print them on normal paper so they lay flatter on my domino. Then cut out.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>2. I just use any kind of <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">scrapbooking</span> adhesive on the mini picture and stick to the domino. (You can use the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">mod-podge</span> to adhere the picture but let it dry before the next step.)</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>3. Then seal with the spray or <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-error">mod-podge</span>.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>4. Next I place the clear bead on the top with jewelry or plastic glue. I like Beacon 375 but any will do.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>If you've seen some other tutorials, they talk about letting the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_7" class="blsp-spelling-error">dominoes</span> soak in bleach or using alcohol to take off the finish of the domino. I don't think it is necessary for this project. If you like doing this and want to stamp or use alcohol inks then you will need to remove the coating. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>You can also make your domino a little dressier by using a silver bail that you find at the craft store. The dominoes can be horizontal or <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_8" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">vertical</span>.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I made 30 of these for a friends party and they were so easy to make. Here is one that I made for me. This took me less than 30 minutes to make.<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451258100133630594" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn3y4DMoK5J4sIbU_Wp-wKyuwpgd94kf0JBvSRrlg9E1NcZVuwb3ba-shVZstE8D-2-c04mebAYTouJFWndwIAmgZxQbOzTEdyRefdDtN3kyEMCo-E2uH10wHC3Id_a5GWeOL4yH4QBDc/s320/DSC05472.JPG" /></div><br /><p></p><p>I used Kris' "Circus in a Box" kit. If you win this challenge, your prize will be "Circus in a Box" so you can use this kit to make some fun pendants of your own. Anyone who participates will get a mini kit containing the eight items that I included on my pendant. I can't help it! I am so excited about my room. I still have tons to share. This is my outside bulletin board as you are walking down the hall. You can't help but see it.<br /><br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5425276711760114818" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9jIqTztkdlqTM2i0SBlMQqwp3cY54RyqcKa6yXzV9P7w8tLwVUoTuMbbeox6Dz0IN3AuGQFsfKFcoLL70p1H491uxPmlX8E0nzzfF0AVjzqPZ7X1-7BVjwOylacI7kXqwV-60aOKGXq4/s320/name_over_door+007.JPG" /><br />A few little recycled beauties from my old school.<br /><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5425276399930830594" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZAl0d8cJRliIHtQdxv92EvyPBaQo74R6YL4p6OcyS8JTf3TNA-AORJc4q6QErlEI_xd1VErsrWhjgFwMkwF2fhZrh-LsHqcuYZ_YmgPYVsvhBoAGV2J9DmNAjInPrf1oENEmV5spq59U/s320/name_over_door+006.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5425276075195587202" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_gmFYIq-aY56ejVIMxDYyWN5DDedYBbi9bVne-kAw0Bc58ZWSGzBgwzWGbe13AfJitpYx-6gN9l3jf0RmP3tNvDiiVoHXor_PES7MRQpTE8-kNSyExL_cVUaMbfPSFQfbMJdXoXUglZs/s320/name_over_door+005.JPG" />I did update the number on my door plaque.<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5425275783552105218" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0Dfwo2e8o0svBesBAZTCZvf-wiL3hq74Dj32O36vb0iHcnrrvfldaFeEvZuUcw2TFbF5xdB62FafBHBdF4-xPFEF_b8kShYUhN41hTQweHwe_62AeIejQZyFmm09yokAPcZ2z8PDY9Qk/s320/name_over_door+003.JPG" /></div><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5425275367644714194" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8xhNyfO-QwzBoT4LTjWeUtiiK2_m7hrCSVpSotLut-8op0yrkTBcSx8-Z1bU4ihGjz8AFYWEjfgwxhnB_itpgoqgNAs-Iv-RvApLKrzSRYeqPHktVwHEAMpouF2YrVJBiGo8CaILVz1M/s320/name_over_door+002.JPG" /></div><div></div><div></div><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5425274948435326146" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn65UUQen39dT-Ybl2mYYPrzgYfHFYew_6qnRNE21W_-8eURQonL4pJOvNKw0QeztrN1z_XcqmA4wkmdlr_2sEJ8LvhyphenhyphenxDyqTYDouDWOo_89iO1RL8EOTfq_ocb-qmWiO9oQZ5ly4EqmE/s320/name_over_door+001.JPG" /></div><div>I added this little bit of fluff over my door. Built into our teacher cabinet, we have two places like this to put bulletin board supplies or charts. I am using them for bigbooks. I also have a few little Maya Road goodies that I have made into hall passes.</div><div></div><div>As you can see, I have covered tons of chipboard and wood. The other day at the Crafty Scrapper, some ladies were wanting to know the best way to cover chipboard. Well, everyone has their favorite, but I can do this in no time flat. This is how I do it.</div><div></div><div>You have to have a glass mat and here is the key- the fiscars finger cutter. I only like the orange one. The new retractable one does not give me the pressure I need at all. You can cover the chipboard with modpodge or outline them with your favorite adhesive. Place your piece or pieces of paper on the chip board. Then turn the letter over so the paper is on the glass mat. Take your fiscars and trace around the letter. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. No problem at all. I then take my Basic Grey files and file them. Then I ink. I have been using Ranger Vintage Photo, but this last group was done with Brown Courderoy. I really liked the effect. If you want to do the other side repeat the process. It is important to sand one side before covering the other side.<br /><br /><br /></div><div><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div>Brookhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09296545140159346270noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1451843616076357855.post-4419849188557595552010-01-04T21:17:00.007-06:002010-01-04T21:56:00.413-06:00My New Roost<div>Well... it has been a long time coming, but the Annette Perry Falcons finally have a new roost. Tonight we had an open house for the families and the kids come tomorrow for our first day of class in our new school. I just wanted to share picts of my room. I really am proud of how cute it turned out. I couldn't have done it with out my cricut and Maya Road Chipboard. I just snapped a few quick picts as I was walking out the door tonight. Tomorrow I will take some better picts.</div><div> </div><div>If I were taller, you could see the cool stuff I have up there. I'm not, so you need to come visit me.</div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGmDND4VuDiNhG_Zv9skyTVGC3FLC_Ko-TCGgmsoBjuZG4JqQaBr9hx5x3gab8QGasQYRHOm42u50Swd2dhIL1z74dFNZCuqKyBtepXBC_TsDHF6dAKbZ-ECaBmeB5Y5QsHSsUnDCyRDaW/s1600-h/DSC04851.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5423095354246470754" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGmDND4VuDiNhG_Zv9skyTVGC3FLC_Ko-TCGgmsoBjuZG4JqQaBr9hx5x3gab8QGasQYRHOm42u50Swd2dhIL1z74dFNZCuqKyBtepXBC_TsDHF6dAKbZ-ECaBmeB5Y5QsHSsUnDCyRDaW/s320/DSC04851.JPG" /></a> I am so glad to have all my books out of storage. I have 18 of these great crates filled with picture books. This doesn't even count the tubs of chapter books that I have around the room. New teachers, I'm telling you....this is where you should invest. I've taught 1st through fourth grade and I have used these picture books in every single grade level. I love this paper- Websters Paper. Of course, everything looks great on a little Maya Road chipboard.<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTTThxPzYIWdScoLA_AT3ugUNNEBtMWASpUfXCLYVNgOjmFLsF2oINXCzCEOJN3xAos6Gtxs0ylv6Ug0wgExeXQN2UpDkNhkXXNbmNfxyI6B6mjxlGIJ-RAYEJrR5TEpPQGur7asiKSCND/s1600-h/DSC04857.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5423094692676678050" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTTThxPzYIWdScoLA_AT3ugUNNEBtMWASpUfXCLYVNgOjmFLsF2oINXCzCEOJN3xAos6Gtxs0ylv6Ug0wgExeXQN2UpDkNhkXXNbmNfxyI6B6mjxlGIJ-RAYEJrR5TEpPQGur7asiKSCND/s320/DSC04857.JPG" /></a><br />Here is the valance above my huge window. I don't know if you can tell but I have this really kickin' document camera, computer and projector on the black cart in the middle. It is so cool. I am almost totally paperless except for my books. I invest in ebooks and materials that are pdf files. I love technology. <br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5423093665114263250" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi19nr7Pqb2mVHzydhENL_P8xW7U-P9Q1VLiofchToYv9WrSAD5cbvLJRTa9tkjgx8fVLLYeRPdKkdOzWSsrdTYLdKnCKrk7zHXp-85gtsUhWsspINEcpFhGeXXnfGnR8kx0_YsiexZvSdv/s320/DSC04850.JPG" /><br /><div> Tomorrow I will take some more close-ups so you can see some more of the goodies I made.<br /><br />The goal was to make it tasteful and cute without being cluttered. I have a lot of students including my own son who don't need a lot of distractions. </div><div> </div><div>Oh.....I don't know if I told you. From my window, I can see Dallas to Maypearl I bet. The water tower behind my mom's house is in the very center of my window when I sit down at my teacher table. I like looking there and thinking that that is where my mom and dad are. He had to make a concert t-shirt for his made up band. He had to tour Europe and visit several countries. He was in the Christmas Spirit, so he created a band called Polar Pudding and the name of his tour was called "The Proof is in the Pudding Tour." He is quite a whitty guy. </div><div> </div><div>Front of t-shirt</div><div> </div><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 256px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421472905326627234" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw2dYt_ZLGKeTl_MchCzT4ifgyvfcuOnCvcWgG6dZzHpG-SiG9U30gCkWILEG2P5MpcreivEhqZstflEI16fCAxjYBeSePHYrzm59LbaloXQ7FQyDjSmQomDlNgmvXlirw1w_Yq1z5BSvT/s320/polarpuddingfront.jpg" /></div><div>Back of shirt</div><div> </div><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 256px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421473246195486322" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2J_h6hW_Z9k-cdVxdfXFIoaFgN6v5RqptU05NIqnAPKdEY3DvL8xOiWLu-isq3zZkoebBgryObeXzz9zbfM9IhamIWJ4yV_2fxEAQdBR4tYCRvwu7ZiowulKkl4EICTPthYubRbYYEnH6/s320/polarpuddingback.jpg" /></div><div> </div><div>Map</div><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 247px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421473502643435682" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyOvGFxVKibk5DGfSwEBhSkenX3XaKIJXaLnY_vvZOnpQrDLR4fGu90SD1RLZhS9YFoclzhwV48TTvtm0lQx2Y0GWqM4Bgsd3FlSVtiDeHMUC1B9jxOahUtzDvmp07QoygdORZtHR3YitY/s320/puddingmap.jpg" /></div><br /><p>I helped him with his extractions, but he did a really nice job I think.</p><p> </p>Brookhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09296545140159346270noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1451843616076357855.post-44801707844715785062009-12-28T14:29:00.004-06:002009-12-28T14:36:46.779-06:00Christmas<div><br /><br /></div><div>I am a terrible blogger lately, but I have had the most awesome Christmas ever. I'm hoping to have some time to scrap it later. I also never got around to printing and mailing out my Christmas cards so here they are. You can buy it at Pickleberry Pop. It is so easy, all you have to do is download, print and color. Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy. Since I love doing the digi thing, I did add picts before I printed out the pages. I noticed I hadn't made a complete album of the boys trip to the Botanical Gardens so I thought this would be great. After I printed out the book. Sam and I colored it with map colors. Then we added ribbon, buttons, brads, stickles, glaze pins and stitching. We had so much fun. If you don't have boys that's okay, I think this book would be great for everyone. Dawn has a great fall book as well so be sure to check it out.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjthh08MqpUBI5cX96xFWww8WIbR7Y3z-GDsL1tHgwCI20VAVldtiAnsYvMUryPx6hAqak1mhpu0YE7uHxXnf1WtEye7SBaAw5-2i68qmBNZKApuWJXFchJhzuViVgTcazGkQqsNT1_5mQ_/s1600-h/213.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; This is my borrowed classroom. We will move into the new school in January, so I didn't go crazy in here. The room is cute, but the picts don't really reflect it all. It is refreshing moving from first and second grade to fourth grade writing. I don't have to have near as much stuff in my room.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmHUCDK_hdHfMhb-h_t3dhlN4eTzNG4tDR-Zbi2lfrNYVDWr6A9fRpfg5xl5pG6xb-g3NStVp54oN56ACcfJJ0AYrgeReJffG3TyZdCH2LotBvOxNZZEEwnC9tNbkmrCwwObMwClDATbZc/s1600-h/055.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 181px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384865793916837698" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmHUCDK_hdHfMhb-h_t3dhlN4eTzNG4tDR-Zbi2lfrNYVDWr6A9fRpfg5xl5pG6xb-g3NStVp54oN56ACcfJJ0AYrgeReJffG3TyZdCH2LotBvOxNZZEEwnC9tNbkmrCwwObMwClDATbZc/s320/055.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjv3j315r5jkQ_MYMeSPCqvl-Z7W29EDLjZUSeOLt0Q3cqpHRYS6jRp6DwvrAc6HcCp2peaqXqlbYYFkYQl8igtg1FK3YUijUX8UTEMqnBoZDJpZmct6luG_AWjgk1KktunIZbXuQlc8ksn/s1600-h/059.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 181px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384865457931227170" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjv3j315r5jkQ_MYMeSPCqvl-Z7W29EDLjZUSeOLt0Q3cqpHRYS6jRp6DwvrAc6HcCp2peaqXqlbYYFkYQl8igtg1FK3YUijUX8UTEMqnBoZDJpZmct6luG_AWjgk1KktunIZbXuQlc8ksn/s320/059.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBWG2I62vkvq-d2uGdNcswizCE1uALoghLkN6poEqZ-aOsP1kz848eLUKrBLbnqzJ6qHBI-NyO9fXE10L-2B6JLm-EdrnGoCc4AFwoTWNtgTPTyVLPhveKsJEWOrWqqc6ODPDyJ_nNSODB/s1600-h/053.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 181px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384865143859999442" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBWG2I62vkvq-d2uGdNcswizCE1uALoghLkN6poEqZ-aOsP1kz848eLUKrBLbnqzJ6qHBI-NyO9fXE10L-2B6JLm-EdrnGoCc4AFwoTWNtgTPTyVLPhveKsJEWOrWqqc6ODPDyJ_nNSODB/s320/053.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio5OdnVNlm7Crl_89nltldLukQ65uZqF3HXwC7yBW3u076KLXzXWeEeYCvWCx4LcE9Roa-sen0o4xDS-owDLkhzhZ0OdLsoGhNww2HY7kAk_Z2LRZIZUGZPy2OisVJbJIfVdxe-PAXsbz_/s1600-h/051.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 181px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384864878810584562" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio5OdnVNlm7Crl_89nltldLukQ65uZqF3HXwC7yBW3u076KLXzXWeEeYCvWCx4LcE9Roa-sen0o4xDS-owDLkhzhZ0OdLsoGhNww2HY7kAk_Z2LRZIZUGZPy2OisVJbJIfVdxe-PAXsbz_/s320/051.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ_fujvDtLe5mQ5FdBbX7GQV1uoqJh2JWy_DLnMcyCR3MYIPUS1AGf1D40NDdU078Rxibfgowcicc11CdWCI6ubkmPmjfFRK-VvTa-sXC8KwA8IRGgKOcaIyQfKX2Ygn3hnyqjdb82vUNB/s1600-h/050.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 181px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384864548967019538" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ_fujvDtLe5mQ5FdBbX7GQV1uoqJh2JWy_DLnMcyCR3MYIPUS1AGf1D40NDdU078Rxibfgowcicc11CdWCI6ubkmPmjfFRK-VvTa-sXC8KwA8IRGgKOcaIyQfKX2Ygn3hnyqjdb82vUNB/s320/050.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuj6QVoGOSMalXSUgQoaUijh5LBARSXZOPh7aswicXTuOqhbE8EYSsaRvPGB_xeNuklVKZ-3fJVrVO2JMjPz_6FbGoM0ftdn1CMpT9c4wvsDqzDtABNKNMMj9UsJhAOzaXxjvcaCLBU8p1/s1600-h/046.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 181px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384864271180425186" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuj6QVoGOSMalXSUgQoaUijh5LBARSXZOPh7aswicXTuOqhbE8EYSsaRvPGB_xeNuklVKZ-3fJVrVO2JMjPz_6FbGoM0ftdn1CMpT9c4wvsDqzDtABNKNMMj9UsJhAOzaXxjvcaCLBU8p1/s320/046.JPG" /></a><br />The last pict is a bulletin board about me whenI was in fourth grade. My Scrappy Valentine. Sam says, "He was the only one who would play with me whenever I wanted." His playful nature was something we could always depend. He always made me feel happy. </div><div> </div><div>On August 7th at 2:30 Val was escaped from the house and was hit by a car. Sam and Cody witnessed the accident. Clay and I rushed home from dropping Luke off at band practice. Val was still so sweet even though he had been through such a terrible ordeal. I guess it was the shock. When we took him to the vet, he stated that there was just too much damage. It was a terrible choice to have to make. Sam and I said goodbye to My Scrappy Valentine. Clay stayed with him to the end. The rough part was giving the news to Luke. I think it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. </div><div> </div><div>We continued with our plans to take Cody back to college. So, we were occuppied for a few days. It was so hard returing home on Sunday. A certain energy seemed to have vanished from our home. It is very quiet. Our other dog Kipper seems to notice it as well. I'm just a little sad. I thought I would be over it by now.</div>Brookhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09296545140159346270noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1451843616076357855.post-37912377452959047272009-06-26T16:25:00.006-06:002009-06-26T16:32:28.478-06:00Fun With Basic GreyI had a little mini retreat with some great friends last week. We now have electricity and internet access so I am happy.<br /><br />These are some LOs that I made last night while I was basking in the glow of my new found freedom.<br /><br />This first LO is a new kit from Dawn Inskip called "Misty" and "Psychedelic Alphabet" that will be coming out at GottaPixel on July 1st. So glad I could get it early. I love the beautiful summer colors. Since my boys and I go to the Botanical gardens so much, I can see that I will be using it a lot. <img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 449px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 449px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa307/brookcampbell/mistypsychedelic_small-1.jpg" border="0" /></div><br /><div></div><br /><div>This next lay out is by Kari Q using her new "Infinity and Beyond" kit at Plain Digital Wrapper. I just can't tell you how excited I was about this. </div><div> </div><div>To tell you the truth, I didn't even think that I was going to turn the album in for judging, but since I am probably not going to be at my school next year, I wanted the last thing I did for them to be really special. </div><div> </div><div>I didn't think that I had enough points for even a blue ribbon because our PTA is small and doesn't have some of the activities that others do, so I made some pages explaining what we had and what we didn't. </div><div> </div><div>The theme this year was heroes. So I made sure that all of my journaling had to do with that theme. It was tough tying heroes in with the Zoo....but I managed it. It all paid off.
