What Christmas Means to ME!

I challenged everyone at the Scrap Shanty to focus on themselves for a bit and really examine what the holidays mean to them. So....I'm taking my moment. Making my list. Checking it twice. And....of course I made a scrapbook layout about it.

Now of course, I want everyone to know that I truly believe that Jesus is the reason for the season. My love and dedication to Jesus Christ is unwaivering. He is the light that guides my life and gives me true meaning.

He has blessed me and these are my top 5 blessings at Christmas time.
1. I get to see all of my favorite people under one roof.

2. My momma and granny take care of me. I can rest.

3. Everyone in the house thinks I'm precious.

4. I get to be surrounded by happiness and no drama.

5. I get to sit around the tree and sing Jimmy Buffet tunes and listen to tuba music. Doesn't everyone?

I have made a few more holiday LOs I will share too.

Well, if I don't have your addy, here is our Christmas card this year. I hope that you all have a wonderful and blessed Christmas.

A Lesson to Us All

Back up your digi files. I had my great big huge external and I really thought that I would be okay. WRONG! One day my files were all gone.

My friend Anne who is on the DT with me at the Scrap Shanty told me that her husband had used GetDataBack. Well it did! So I have the files back and I have made backups. I do need to rearrange them and get them in the correct order.

So I did have something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Here is one LO that I did just because I can't stand to make a post without some picts.

I'm Such a Bad Blogger But I'm Thankful

For SSR this month I made two LO about thankfulness. The first is a 12X 12, the second is for a brag book that I am going to do about thankfulness.

Sam is so so funny! This is a LO of his serious injury!

Sam turned 8! I can't believe it. He is no longer my 3 month preemie baby!

Here he was just a few years ago! Well six years ago!

Last year Luke and Sam. I made the costumes!

This is a LO of my friends Judith and Marzi and our trip to "The Big Easy."

This is a LO using Kris Myers' Word Art and a poem I wrote for the kids at school about 20 years ago.
This is a LO of Oystein Baadsvik the only full time tuba soloist in the world. He was awesome! Luke's eyes were opened to the possibilities.

I was a chaperone for the big band Halloween dance. I had fun and I think Luke did too!

My boys last Autumn before Thanksgiving.

Finally here is a LO of Sam and Luke Trick or Treating this year!

The Salty Dog

I wanted to have a nervous breakdown. He did this the night before my meet the teacher night right before school started. He didn't want to pay for earrings so he used two different types of earrings out of the bottom of Amanda's purse. One was a happy crab and the other was a cheap rhinestone. I figured- ears are small. Calm down. In the grand scheme of things he could be doing a lot worse.
The other part of the story is that I had Sam with me. We were greated by Mohawk girl. Sam, Mr. Personality, hid behind me and wouldn't talk. I had to have the whole talk with Sam that just because they look different, doesn't mean that they are bad. She thought I was Mr. Bear's mother when I came in. I am so not that old. Sam hated the place and wanted to leave. He said that, "it was of the Devil." Mr. Bear didn't charge to fix Cody's ears. He only charged for the rings. I made it clear to Mr. Bear that right now Cody wanted to be a teacher. And even though it might be cool if there were pierced teachers, it wasn't going to happen. I showed him how big the hole in Cody's ear could be stretched. I paid him double. I told him that everytime Cody came in that he really needed to take care of me by taking care of Cody. If he did that I would come by and pay him again after Cody paid him. I'm hoping Mr. Bear will keep up his end of the bargain.
