Check out my Slide Show!

Tubas

Luke is going to be in the honor band next year. He is so excited. He had to turn in his beginner tuba and got the full size tuba. It is so much bigger than the other tuba and has four valves. I asked him, "Luke do you know what those valves are for?" He said, "Sure mom," and he just started playing. Then he started laughing and had the biggest smile on his face. I askedd, "Why are you laughing?" "It tickles," he said. Now whenever I listen to him, I start to smile because I keep thinking about it tickling his nose.

He is going to audition for the band director at TCU to see if he will take him on as a student. I'll let you know how it turns out!

School is Out

I love teaching school, but I am always relieved when summer is here. This year especially, I need a break. I really haven't done much since Friday. I have gotten Luke a summer tuba. I picked up a tiny bit, but not much. I have gone to Costco to stock up on some food boys will eat. Today I slept really late and then made a few digi layouts. I can't get out all of my paper until I clean up the house which I hopefully will have done on Wednesday. Here is what I did today.

Seniors

I've been thinking a lot about my Cody being a senior. It is really hard for me to believe that he will soon be a senior. I was looking at my senior picks. It seems to me that I was so much more mature than he was. Then I saw my mom's D.A.R. pict from her senior year. I always thought she looked so much more mature than me. I'm sure she probably thought that she was more mature than me also.I'm so worried about the choices he will make.

My father is giving Cody his old truck. I'm very scared after the last time he drove since it resulted in the destruction of my mini van. I hope everyone will pray for him tomorrow afternoon as he drives his new pick up home.

Anyway....Since I was looking at picts of Mom and me, I decided to make this LO.

What I'm Feeling Today

Well, school is almost out. I think I am ready for a break. I can't wait to have a fun time spreading all of my scrapbooking elements around my desk and creatiing. Since I haven't really been able to do that, then I am doing a few more digital layouts. I'm also cleaning a little so when summer starts, I can start having fun.

This layout was created for a digital challenge using a premade lay out. I added tons of embellishements and made it mine. I don't get in many of the picts with my boys, but I have had to make some layouts with pictures of me for my online friends. So I thought that I would put some of those picts together on this layout.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Mothers' Day 2007

Today I had a fabulous day. After I got new hair, I went to lunch with my granny, my mother and my aunt. We had a great time visiting and sitting in my mother's new garden. It was a wonderful day. I told her that I wanted to take a picture with her. She reached up and put her hand on my cheek. It made me remember some of the other picts that I had seen where she had done this in the past. I love my granny!

National Scrapbooking Day

I really wanted to get out and go with some of my friends to scrapbook. But, alas, I just couldn't go out when we had clean up from the great storms and so much laundry to do. Today was a digital scrapbookers dream. Everyone and their dog was giving away freebies. So in between laundry and such, I downloaded tons of cool stuff. Then I decided that I would scrap while the boys watched T.V. I completed a lot of challenges. Some of the layouts I like and some I don't. Oh well...that is always the way it goes. Here they are the good, the bad and the hopefully not ugly.

The Great Thunderstorms of '07

This spring we have had so many storms. I have lost count of how many times we have had our garage flooded. Today the wind was blowing so hard. I was really worried about Clay. It took him two hours to get home. Our power was out, so I went outside and started taking pictures.
Since my friend Stacie has started a new challenge on www.ssreflections.com, I decided to combine her layout challenge with my pictures.
I used a hodgepodge of digital items.
Papers- Shandy Vogt If You Dare, Anna Benjamin Paper Moon Damask
Alphas- Misty Cato's Blue Glitter
Embellishments-Kim Liddiard Metal and Mesh
Overlays- O Edge Flourishes
