Good Things Happen

Well, it seems that good things happen when I can't sleep. I just got an email from the Natural Designs in Scrapbooking web site that hosts the Amazing Digital Scrapbooking Race. My LO is being featured on the web site! I guess they thought it was funny! It does really have some great paper from Kris Myer's "Rodeo Days" kit. I'm glad that they liked it!

Can't Sleep

So what do I do when I can't sleep. Well- I scrap of course. I did this LO with Mindy Armours Aged Ephemera.

One More "Automatic"

This is a challenge I am doing for the Wordsters. The word was "Automatic." The first thing that came to my mind was Sam. My love for him was automatic. When I saw that tiny baby, I didn't see a 1 lb 11 oz premie. I saw love. I fell instantly in love with him as did the whole family. I used a sketch from Thorum over at "Gettin Sketchy" along with Amy Wolf's "Pinned Alpha" and Weeds and Wildflowers "Reverie".

Well Let Us See......

This is my layout for the ADSR #5. I think I like it so much because it is about my mom. The challenge was to tell about something that someone taught you and how it effected your life. My mom has a wonderful imagination and she allowed me to be imaginative. I remember playing with her growing up. She gave me so many wonderful adventures. I really try to make adventures for my guys and my students. I can't imagine how people go through life without creative outlets.

I have had a lot of fun lately and have so much to post. So let me get started with the LOs.

These layouts were done with Andrea Gold's great templates "Busy Boys and Template #93." I love the new kit Andrea made called "Bold Brown" and the add-on called "Boy Brown" Do you see what grossness I have to put up with on a daily basis?!!!!!

These layouts were made using Kris Myer's Kits, "Rodeo Days" and "Make a Splash" kits. The first one was a layout I made for the ADSR. It is supposed to show my goals in life. This is the only one I can think of lately. LOL!!

For my friends that wonder if I work with paper, I have a few things to show you. This is a layout I made at my mini retreat. Sara bought these great supplies for us and asked us to make a layout with them of someone we loved. I love so many, but I certainly do love that way that Sam so freely loves us all. Here he is loving his new little cousin Jaye last Christmas.

Now I'm going to share a whole lot of pictures of my birthday calendar. That I made. I saw one at the Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie and I knew then that I had to have one.

The last layout is of my lesson plan and calendar book that I made. Can't go through the year with something. dull. Oh well...thanks for looking. I'll have more done later! I hope everyone has a great week!

Great Time and Happy News

I just got back from spending several days with my girl friends Stacie, Sara, Sharon, Shari and Maria. We scrapped and stayed up late watching girly movies and we ate and ate. It was a blast!!!

When I got home I posted the LO that I made for the Amazing Race. It was chosen LO of the Day at Scrapbook Chalet. I was so excited! I had a great time making the LO. I actually made it while I was at Sara's house. The challenge was "If I Were Queen of the World." I think that every girl should have a tiara. Every girl should feel special every day. And.......scrapbook supplies should be free.
I had a fun doing it. It was made with Weeds and Wildflowers, "Creating Beauty," "Flower Frenzy", "Celebrating Color White," Fantasy Bryant "Paper Crown" Alphas were created by Leah Riordan, "Punch"and Retrodiva "Newsprint." The sketch was from www.gettinsketchy.com.
I will post more about my trip when I catch up!

I'm EXCITED!

I'm really excited to be part of Mindy Armour's new Creative Team. I just got the news this morning. She really has some awesome kits. Before I was on her team, I had already used her "Topsy Turvy" kit to make the "Crazy" LO. Then I added the wonderful "Little Boy Blue". I embellished with some glitter doodles from Leah Hoddinott. I can't tell you how much I am enjoying digital scrapping. It is so much fun. I keep trying to talk my friends into doing it!!!
I keep thinking about what a wonderful time Sam and I had yesterday. I have been working hard to have some quality time with each of the boys during the summer. Cody and I have been playing "Guitar Hero." (I am actually pretty good.) Luke and I have been going to tuba lessons. Then afterwards, we have been going to do whatever he wants. Clay and I have been grocery shopping. (That is his idea of a date either that or going to Cabella's.) Sam and I have been doing a lot of art.
Now I am going to have a little me time with my Scrappin' Girl Friends. Shari from California, Sharon from Oklahoma, Maria from Houston and Stacie and I are going down to Kerrville for a few days to get a little scrappin done and spend a little quality time together. I can't wait to see them all. I will report back on Wednesday with some great pictures! Have fun everyone!!!!

Not a baby anymore

This is a layout I made of Sam. The pictures were taken last summer when he was going through his balloon animal phase.

This is a picture I took of him today outside the Van Grow Art Studio. He has started setting up his own shots. "Mom you have to take a picture of me in front of the door. It will be a good picture." He knew what he was talking about.

What is the big idea? Where is my baby. Seven years ago, I was just trying to keep my tiny 8 pound 8 month old alive. I was taking him from one specialist to another hiding him from the general public so he would get sick. Now look at him. Ready to start second grade. My heart hurts a little knowing that he is growing up. It hasn't bothered me that the other two boys are growing up. I've been very happy that they are growing up to be independent and taking care of themselves. But Sam.....

The funny thing is, he is the most independent of all of my boys. He makes sure he does his own homework, tells me when it is bath time and remembers to take his medicine.

I really treasure days like today when it is just the two of us spending time together. We went to the art studio and he was allowed to create to his hearts content for an hour. Then I got to take him home and leave the mess. (I'll be working on some more pages later.)
This is a layout I did over seven years ago of my precious little Sam. He is just such a miracle.

Let's See What I Have Done

I have been on the computer more than normal lately working on this math curriculum. It makes my brain hurt, so I have to take a break every once and a while. I can't just sit and watch t.v. I'm too hyper so this is what I have done.
This is my first LO for the amazing race. It had to be based on a work of art that we loved. I love Jim Dine because he can take something simple like a heart, and make it have different emotions.

I did this LO for my FIL of Randy my BIL on the mound with the A's. I think it is a really cook picture filled with lots of contemplation. The whole family is very proud of all Randy has done. Not bad for a small town boy from Richards, Texas.

This is a LO of Sam swimming. He says that he hates to slide and jump into the pool. Can't you tell how much he hates it. This was done for Kris Myers' "Wow them with Words" challenge. I have really enjoyed being on her creative team. I'm having a blast.

This LO is for an Ad challenge over at Scrapbook Chalet. I remember when Sam was so little. He loved rocking in these rockers that my daddy was making at the time.

I think that this is self explanatory.

And....so is this one!

I've finally gotten all of the research and the dirty work done on my math curr.. So tomorrow, I hope to start typing. There is a whole lot to type. I want it finished and submitted by Friday!!!! I can't wait for my road trip with Stacie down to see Sara!!!

Simplicity

I made this LO today for a wordster challenge. It is called "Simplicity." One of my rare joys is when Sam is still. I journaled the following, "When you are still, your true nature is revealed. True Simplicity. I really believe that! He has a very sweet and contemplative nature.

The next is a LO I made of Rachel. I just had so much fun watching her on our vacations. She is dancing to Dora the Explorer. She is so happy.

Both of these LO were made using Weeds and Wildflowers "Celebraring Colors"

Jumping for Joy

This layout of my dad and my niece Rachel was placed on the cover of www.scrapdigistyle.com today! I'm really excited! Not only for the honor, but because the LO is about a a great event. My niece Rachel has autism and has really started to show some great improvement. When we visited my brother's family I could see some great progress. In this picture, she reached up for my dad to pick her up and she gave him some sugar. Then she grabbed his hand and took him over to the little trampoline. She then started jumping. If daddy let go, she would grab his hands again. She wanted to jump high! She tired daddy out. He had to sit down!
This trip was so wonderful because she would finally look at us. There were no pictures of the back of Rachel's head!

Rub-a-dub-dub Brooky in the Tub

This is a LO I made in the wee hours of this morning. Using templates and doodles from Andrea.
Plus I learned how to make Blinkies which I am particularly proud of doing. If you look over to the right. You can see my name and the blinkie I made for my amazing race team with Bobbie. We are going to be the Killer B's! Well I think I will go to sleep.

Scrappin' Break

Well...I have been working really hard today on the Math Curriculum. I'm not sure that any amount of pay is worth this. I just keep thinking that this is my Christmas money for the guys. I have almost finished 12 weeks of school.
Since I worked so hard, I rewareded myself by scrappin. This is what I did.

Sam's 5 mos. picts that I took back in 2000.

This is a LO of Amanda
This is a LO about Cody and his girlfriend. I didn't much care to hear him telling her that he loved her. That was just the mom in me. But, I know he does. First love can be pretty intense. She is a very sweet little girl.

As a little girl I just remember having a lot of fun! This is me at 4 having fun in North Carolina.

Well...I have to decide now....Sleep....Work...or Scrap....Hmmm...I wonder which I will do!

Feelin' Happy about Sam but Not so Scrappy

Some of my favorite Scrappin Sistas are having babes. We have been talking a lot about it on the list. It started me thinking about Sam and how tiny he was. This is the paper LO that I did for him in his baby book.
You can see how tiny he was in the top pict. The purple glove there belonged to a really small little nurse. It is the first pict we took. The next pict is the second pict we took. He is covered with some plastic that was peeled back kinda like a tv dinner. (that was the thought that ran through my mind at the time) Then the next pict is Sam resting underneath the light to stop that jaundice. I couldn't touch him for three days. So I would just stare at him for hours. He is a miracle.

Sometimes I just get a little scrapper's block. Today was one of those days. I did three LOs that I totally ditched. I even grabbed a template, because I thought that would help. It didn't chances are I'm feeling too guilty about not working on my curriculum. But I didn't feel guilty enough to actually do it.
But yesterday, I did scrap some. I was very excited when I went to http://www.scrapdigistyle.com/ and saw my LO of Cat featured on the home page. I was so excited.

I used Kris Myer's new "Americana" kit and templates. I loved it! It is one of those kits I can used again and again!

There are some LO's that I have made that I haven't posted so here they are.

Thanks for Lookin'!
